NH CITIZENS COMMISSION ON THE STATE COURTS
RESEARCH COMMITTEE ROLE

 

Committee Charter:  

  • Research Committees will be comprised of a committee chair, a secretary/note taker and several commission members
  • Each Commissioner will serve on at least one research committee
  • Research Committees will focus on one topic area and will do the following:
  • Review the work of prior commissions, task forces, etc, in terms of the analysis, range of input and final recommendations
  • Identify which recommendations have been implemented, which recommendations may be in progress and which have been deferred
  • Review the input received by this Commission from citizens across the state through listening sessions, UNH survey, web input, and written submissions of information
  • During the deliberative phase, work to identify recommendations that will be part of the final report
  • Present findings to the Commission
  • Work with Writing Committee to finalize recommendations in report format
Committee Schedules:  
  • July 2005 – Research Committees established, chairs and committee secretaries identified
  • August 2005 – Committees begin meetings to review information/input
  • September – December 2005 – Committees review input from several sources, seek additional information as required
  • January – March 2006 – Committees meet to formulate recommendations; present draft recommendations to Commission
  • April – May 2006 – Committees work with Writing Committee to complete final report
 
 
SUMMARY
Each commissioner has been assigned to one of eight research committees, to research more particular areas of prospective interest for recommendations. These research committees will report back to the full Commission by March 1, 2006. A list of these committees, their charges, rosters, and meeting dates can be viewed by clicking here.
